Choose Your Massage Session

Therapeutic Massage: Your therapists have been trained in a wide range of techniques and will combine a variety of modalities in order to tailor the session to your specific needs. The main techniques employed at Kaizen Healing Arts are described on the Therapeutic Massage Techniques page.

Thai Massage: Described as "lazy man's yoga", traditional Thai massage is an ancient healing art that was developed over a thousand years ago in Thailand and draws from both the Ayurvedic and the Chinese traditions. This powerful technique combines the concepts of both acupressure and yoga. Deep compression is applied along the sen lines, through which the body's vital force flows. The practitioner gently moves the client into yoga postures, which further enhance the flow of energy and stretch the muscles. The session is performed on a floor mat and through the client's clothes. Thai-Yoga Massage releases blocked energy and stimulates the body's innate healing potential, thus restoring balance, health and harmony. After completing a 90 hour intensive training course in Northern Thailand Ms. Kempter devotes half of her practice to performing Thai massage and finds that many people can greatly benefit from this deep yet gentle work. A minimum of ninety minutes is highly recommended in order to allow the body to absorb this powerful healing experience.

Pediatric Massage Therapy: Upon completion of a pediatric massage therapy certification, Kelly Kempter is now offering massage for children. For a child who has undergone hospitalization or been diagnosed with a debilitating medical condition, symptoms often include pain, anxiety, loneliness and fear. Research has shown that massage therapy can ease both physical and emotional discomforts associated with pediatric medical conditions. For healthy children living in today’s high stress climate of over achievement, sensory overload, burdensome choices, and multiple extracurricular activities, our children can benefit from therapeutic massage more than ever before. In fostering a lifestyle of well being in our children, through teaching them to care for their bodies, encouraging a healthy relationship with touch, and carving out quiet time for their bodies to rejuvenate, we give them some essential tools that will build a lifetime of healthy choices. Nurturing touch for babies and children has been shown to increase growth and brain development and sensory integration, help with sleep regulation, enhance verbal and nonverbal communication as well as alleviate pain, anxiety and depression. In addition to relief from chronic conditions such as asthma, nausea, constipation and muscle aches, this healing touch modality provides comfort, increases relaxation, and reduces stress hormones in the body. Children tend to respond amazingly well to massage therapy by fully and quickly integrating the benefits into their growing bodies, thus shorter sessions are generally sufficient. We always encourage parents to be involved and stay in the room during their child’s session, especially if the child requests it. In addition to massage therapy for children, we now offer private tutoring sessions for parents/guardians and their children. Together, let’s nurture our society’s youngest and most precious members though therapeutic touch!

Hot Stone Massage: Hot Stone Massage is becoming widely sought after for its deeply relaxing benefits. This therapy offers a profound connection with nature that we too often forget. It involves the placement of smooth, heated, basalt stones on key points on the body to melt away knots, tension and stress. The therapist then uses an aromatherapy oil blend to luxuriously massage the muscles with the heated stones. The combination of penetrating heat and massage relieves pain, promotes harmony, and creates a sense of peace. If you have never experienced this unique indulgence, you owe yourself this exquisite moment.

Couples Massage: During a Couples Massage, two people receive a massage simultaneously in the same room, by two different therapists. Our space is large enough to accommodate two massage tables, side by side. We invite you to enjoy the rejuvenation and mutual benefits of a massage with your partner.
